Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated on 4 November 1995 by Yigal Amir on the kings of Israel square in tel Aviv, after a rally in support of peace. He managed to fire twice, as you can see on this picture, using the back of a bodyguard. According to different versions had three or four shots. Yigal himself claimed to have shot once.

Born in Jerusalem to a family of immigrants from Russia. He graduated from agricultural school.
In 1940 he joined the Palmah. During the Second world war - spy in the British service, took part in the fighting against the Vichy in Syria. After 1945, took part in anti-British armed struggle and war for independence. At the age of 32 he received the rank of General at age 44 became the chief of the General staff of the Israeli army (1964 – 1968). Under his leadership, Israel won in the 1967 war.
In 1970-e years has held the post of Prime Minister, but due to financial scandal was forced to resign, and then appointed Ambassador to the United States. In 1992 he was elected Secretary General of the party "Avoda" and in July again becoming the Prime Minister.
Pursued a policy of peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The winner of the Nobel peace prize (1994), which he received together with Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat.
